** The Mirror Ball range, Copper Shade, Copper Blow Shade and Fat Spot are all products which share the same special vacuum metallisation process which has been developed over a number of years by Tom Dixon in partnership with our factory. The technically complex nature of this process (i.e applying a very thin layer of real metal to the internal surface of a polycarbonate form, which is then UV coated) requires highly skilled workers, specific machinery and clean environments to meet our demanding quality levels. We have sought to perfect this process by carefully controling the extremely small holes that can appear at times within the metal coating. In addition to research and development of the production process, we also adhere to specific European Directives (such as “The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive” (RoHS) 2002/95/EC) and certain safety standards required by the international marketplace (British Standard, European Certificate, UL Rating, CCC and so on).**
