Etch Suspension Light by Tom Dixon
The geodesic structures of Etch are made up of sections of 0.4mm etched metal sheets inspired by the logic of pure mathematics. The detailed pattern cast a mass of intricate shadows when lit. Made from Brass sheets, on which the pattern of holes is first photo-etched then dissolved with acid. The brass is then lacquered to prevent oxidisation. Great design again from Tom Dixon. -

Etch Web Stainless Steel Suspension light by Tom Dixon
Tom Dixon Etch Web is a vast 60cm wide shade with an unusual open structure, designed to cast atmospheric angular shadows when lit. Another experiment in Tom Dixon's long running exploration of mathematics and geometry, an irregular pentagon shape is repeated 60 times across the body to create a total sphere. The enormous globe is made from stainless steel with an extreme-polished finish giving a remarkable shine and a jewel-like quality as external light is reflected off the mirrored surface. Formed through a process of digital photo-acid etching, a halogen bulb is suspended within the centre of Etch Web to make it the ultimate shadow play pendant. -

Gem is a family of angular lights, tables and mirrors which all take inspiration from the facets of cut gemstones. Each product bears indentations of sand from its making. Instead of filing these away for a smoother finish we have embraced the rough and textured feel. An oversized and weighty pendant light. Shaped by angular edges to create a three-dimensional shape, the facets mimic those of cut gemstones. The light is channelled through the narrow shape to give a more directional beam. A ceiling rose in the same nickel-plated aluminium accompanies Pendant Tall, mirroring the design of the shade. Tom Dixon Gem lighting Collection also includes a Wide Pendant and a Wall Light. -

Rarely used in contemporary design, the process results in an incredibly hard-wearing object. Hand cast in glass with a distinct style these lamps are available in three separate designs - the Bowl, Lens and Tube shape. This collection bears the inclusions and imperfections of the manufacturing process. -
