Glass is a series of pendant lamps highlighting the simplicity and beauty of blown glass. These heavyweight lights pay homage to an industrial process. A direct contrast to the artisan association of hand-blown glass, the process involves compressing molten glass into a hollow- core mould which is then annealed in a kiln. Rarely used in contemporary design, the process results in an incredibly hard-wearing object. Hand cast in glass with a distinct style these lamps are available in three separate designs - the Bowl, Lens and Tube shape. This collection bears the inclusions and imperfections of the manufacturing process. -

Akari 21 & 26A Suspension Light Designed by Isamu Noguchi in 1951
In 1951, American/Japanese artist and designer Isamu Noguchi started to design the Akari Light Sculptures. A total of over 100 hand-made Shoji-paper models for table lights, standard lamps or ceiling luminaries were created. For the name of this lighting series he chose the word "akari", the Japanese terms for brightness and light, and also lightness.
"The light of Akari is like the light of the sun filtered through the paper of shoji. The harshness of electricity is thus transformed through the magic of paper back to the light of our origin the sun so that its warmth may continue to fill our rooms at night." Isamu Noguchi. -
